For the love of a lake is a video I made for my Dad in early 2019.
The goal of the video was to show all the improvements that have been made at Rudyard since Rudyard Lake Ltd. and the Rudyard Lake Trust was formed in 95/96.
…the pre-production (scriptwriting) was probably the biggest task; sifting through the archives to find what happened at what time and then finding appropriate photos from the time.
The video is for one of the screens at the lake’s activity centre but it also needed to be completed for an event that was about a month away. I already had a few editing jobs on so a classic case of juggling different projects at once!
It made sense to go for a ‘timeline’ format and as time/money were limited I looked on videohive for the best, most suitable template we could re-purpose for the job to save making everything from scratch.

After that it all came together fairly quickly and easily – once again proving the old adage right: ‘Fail to prepare, prepare to fail!’.
